2 How Do I Use This Book?
Kristel D. Phillips; Tianna Reneé Urrea MacMeans; and Hannah Noel Niccum
Since you are likely new to U of A, the best way to use this book is as a guide to your first couple of semesters. Read these pages as a “how to” guide over the next few weeks, months and even years! Some of the information will immediately be useful to you, while some of the other information will be useful later this semester, or in future semesters. One thing for sure is that at some point all of this information will be useful in one way or another.
In this book, you will find:
- Information on helpful university resources.
- Effective study strategies that you might not have tried before.
- Assistance navigating the ALEKS Math program to help you succeed if you practice what you learn!
You might find that some of your high school strategies don’t work as well in college. However, there are many others that you can try, and without a doubt, you will find some that will help you in your college career. One of the main chapters in this book deals with the ALEKS Math program and it will help you succeed if you practice what you learn!
Best of luck as you navigate the U of A and remember, THINK TANK is always here to help!
Let’s get started! This book is organized into 13 parts, with numbered chapters within each part. To navigate through the Contents, select the Contents arrow, select the part you’d like to read, read the introduction, then select the + sign. The chapters for that part will drop down, so you can read each chapter. When finished, you can click on the – sign and that will collapse that part for you.
You can also navigate through the book by using the links at the bottom left and bottom right of each page.
