Chapter 8: Translanguaging Pedagogies
Abstract
Translanguaging theory is currently a prominent topic of discussion in applied linguistics and language teaching. This chapter discusses the concept of translanguaging, its connections to monolingual and multilingual language ideologies, and how it has been developed recently in Applied Linguistics. The chapter then gives examples of Translanguaging pedagogies, including classroom practices in Arabic classes. This discussion is presented in terms of reframing existing practices and creating transformative spaces.

تُعد نظرية الـ translanguaging (أو دراسة الممارسات اللغوية التي تتجاوز حدود اللغات) من أهم الموضوعات في مجالي اللغويات التطبيقية وتدريس اللغات. يناقش هذا الباب مفهوم الـ translanguaging ووصلاته بالأيديولوجيات اللغوية الأحادية والمتعددة اللغات وكيف تطورت هذه النظرية في مجال اللغويات التطبيقية حديثا. بعد ذلك، يقدم الباب أمثلة على طرق التدريس التي تتجاوز حدود اللغات متضمنة الأنشطة والممارسات داخل صفوف اللغة العربية. وفي جزء المناقشة، يقدم الباب عرضا لكيف يمكن إعادة تأطير الممارسات الحالية وخلق فضاءات تحويلية.
